This page contains all open solicitations for specific equipment available to be requested. These solicitations are the result of product donations that have been given to the Foundation that we are looking to process out in the form of grants. Because the equipment is donated, we are unable to deviate from what is offered.
The majority of our Safety Grant Program still focuses on applications for a wide variety of items that each applying agency determines will contribute to the safety of their officers but they do not have internal funding for. If you are seeking an item not included in our Solicitation section, please still apply using the online Grant Application.
Agencies should review the eligibility criteria carefully for each open solicitation before submitting their application. Failure to be eligible is the most common reason for not successfully obtaining a grant.

WHELEN 48″ Liberty All Blue LED Light Bar
SUMMARY
Spirit of Blue has received in donation a large number of all blue light bars that are approximately 2-3 years old that are being granted out from September to December 2026. The outer lenses have all been replaced, which is typically the surface that shows the greatest wear due to oxidation.
ELIGIBILITY
Priority will be given to:
- agencies whose current vehicles have no roof-mounted light bars
- agencies adding new vehicles to their fleet that have no light bars allocated
- agencies with fleet vehicles whose light bars are excessively worn or outdated agencies with vehicles with no roof-mounted light bars, agencies adding new vehicles to their fleet that have no light bars allocated or for agencies with fleet vehicles whose light bars are excessively worn or outdated.
PRODUCT DETALS
Description – Whelen 48-inch Liberty Low Current lightbar fully populated with blue LEDs (14) with LED takedowns and alleys.
Model Number – SL8BBBB
Compatibility – 48-inch width will work for Ford Police Interceptors, Ford Police Interceptor Utilities and most common sedans of all brands. These light bars are not suitable for larger SUV’s or pickup trucks. This product should be compatible with all controller units of all brands that accept a 12V interface.
Restrictions – Only the lightbar is being offered. Recipient agency is responsible for sourcing the mounting bracket particular to the vehicle it is being mounted on and any other required components to connect the lightbar to the control unit.
